Daylight Privacy Policy

Effective date: 5 June 2026

Daylight is a weather and outdoor-planning app. This policy explains what data the app uses and why.

Data Daylight Uses

Daylight may use your current location if you allow location access, saved locations you add, weather data returned by Apple Weather, app settings, Daylight Pro entitlement state, and local cached weather snapshots so the app and widget can open quickly.

How Data Is Used

Daylight uses this data for app functionality only: showing weather, calculating the Daylight Score and sun guidance, showing widgets, scheduling local notifications from the forecast already loaded in the app, and unlocking Daylight Pro features after an App Store purchase.

Daylight does not sell your data. Daylight does not include third-party advertising or third-party analytics in version 1.

Location

If you grant location permission, your device provides a location to Daylight. Daylight uses that location to request weather from Apple Weather. You can deny location permission and use saved locations instead. You can change location permission at any time in iOS Settings.

Apple Weather

Weather forecasts are provided using Apple Weather where available. Apple Weather has its own data-source attribution and legal terms, available in the app and at weatherkit.apple.com/legal-attribution.html.

Apple Intelligence And Summaries

Daylight Pro can show optional weather summaries. On supported devices, summaries may use Apple Intelligence on device. If Apple Intelligence is unavailable, Daylight uses its built-in local summary instead. Summaries are a convenience layer and may omit details or phrase forecasts imperfectly.

Subscriptions

Daylight Pro purchases are handled by Apple through the App Store. Daylight stores the current entitlement state locally so the app and widget can react quickly. Trials, renewals, cancellation, billing and refunds are managed by Apple.

Data Storage And Deletion

Daylight stores settings, saved locations and cached weather locally on your device, including in the app group shared with the widget. Deleting the app removes this local app data from the device. You can delete saved locations inside the app.
